Our Approach

Hikmat Palestine adapts proven, effective programs to the Palestinian context. These include student-run companies, school-led innovation projects, art & culture clubs, and more — all co-designed with local partners to ensure they meet real needs and are sustainable for the long term.

Our Model

Our Story

In the face of adversity, Hikmat Palestine ignites transformative change by empowering local innovators to redefine the future of Palestinian communities.

Inspired by the simplicity and resourcefulness of making falafel, our ‘Falafel Theory’ embodies the principle of achieving more with less—maximizing impact through minimal resources

Mission

  • Empower Palestinian changemakers

  • We support individuals and communities with bold

ideas to lead their own transformation.

  • Provide tools, mentorship, and micro-funding

  • Access to the right support at the right time can turn

    small ideas into big impact.

  • Support grassroots innovation and community-led

    solutions

  • We believe those closest to the problem are also

    closest to the solution.

  • Shift power back to local hands

  • Our goal is long-term resilience, not dependency.

Vision

  • A resilient, self-driven Palestine

  • Communities equipped to rise above challenges and

    shape their future.

  • Local innovation as the engine of progress

  • Progress that starts within — fuelled by creativity, not

    charity.

  • Sustainable development from the ground up

  • Projects that last, grow, and adapt because they’re

    built locally.

  • A model of impact the world can learn from

  • We aim to make Palestine a global example of

    grassroots innovation done right.

Our Journey So Far

Seed of an Idea

Sparked by 25+ years of local development experience, we recognized the urgent need for a multiplier-focusedfund—one that invests in local brilliance under extreme constraints.

First Pilots

We tested the Falafel Theory approach through small grants for youth-led coding programs, women’s micro-loans, and solar micro-grids, quickly seeing big returns on minimal resources.

Virtual Accelerator Launch

In response to diverse applicant needs and limited mobility, we created our online capacity-building platform, welcoming innovators from across Palestine.

Scaling & Partnerships

Today, our network spans diaspora funders, local NGOs, universities, and private companies—all rallying behind the “achieve more, with less, for more” philosophy.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to grow, we aim to expand into new sectors, replicate successes in underserved communities, and amplify stories of Palestinian ingenuity for a global audience.
